PATRICIA ORTEGA, a multifaceted talent as a vocalist, composer, educator, and healer, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Northeastern Illinois University. With Mexican/Cuban musical roots, she has graced various iconic stages nationwide and has contributed her talents to diverse projects from the Lyric Opera Children’s Choir to the Chicago House Music Scene. Working across genres—Flamenco, Cuban, Latin Jazz, Mexican, R&B, Rock, Soul, and folk—Patricia seamlessly blends influences in her compositions. Her solo journey and extensive collaboration with Las Guitarras de España resulted in four albums, showcasing her skills in co-writing, arranging, and producing.
Her artistic journey includes national tours with the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Company, the Un Debel Flamenco Company in Houston, and collaborations with clients and organizations across the country. As the co-founder of the Urban Flamenco Arts Project, she utilized flamenco for mentoring at-risk youth through the After School Matters program, demonstrating her commitment to community impact. Patricia’s outreach extends to lecture demonstrations at schools and universities nationwide since 2002.
Her creative vision shines through in original productions at the Greenhouse Theater via MPAACT, where she served as the artistic director which included “Mujeres,” “Flamenco Jam,” “Lady Sings El Blues,” and “Flamenco y Frida” Notably, in 2023, she premiered her acclaimed “Flamenco y Frida” show in Dallas, Texas, captivating a sold-out audience to the immersive experience.
In 2018, she attained a Reiki Master certification, envisioning the integration of healing into her art through sound meditations. Patricia eagerly anticipates merging her passion for helping others with the transformative power of music and sound.
